Estate & Pre-Owned Jewelry

Our estate and pre-owned collection includes carefully selected jewelry from a variety of periods, styles and designers. Pieces may be antique, vintage or modern, and many are available in a quantity of one.

Estate and pre-owned describe jewelry that has had a previous owner. Consignment describes the arrangement through which an owner places jewelry with Greenleaf’s to be sold on their behalf. Not every estate piece is consigned.

Inspection and Condition

Every estate and pre-owned piece is examined by our experienced team before being offered for sale. When appropriate, jewelry may be professionally cleaned, polished, repaired or serviced.

Minor signs of age, previous wear or prior repair may remain and are part of the nature of pre-owned jewelry. We make every reasonable effort to describe noticeable condition details and provide photographs that accurately represent each piece.

Please contact us before purchasing if you would like additional photographs, video or condition information.

Gemstone and Diamond Information

Unless accompanied by an independent laboratory report, gemstone weights, measurements, color grades and clarity grades are approximate and represent our professional assessment.

Any available GIA or other independent laboratory documentation will be identified in the product listing.

One-of-a-Kind Availability

Most estate, pre-owned and consigned pieces are available in a quantity of one and may also be displayed in our Billings store.

Although we work to keep online availability current, a rare simultaneous in-store and online sale may occur. If an item purchased online is no longer available, the customer will be contacted and fully refunded.

Returns

Eligible estate, pre-owned and consignment jewelry may be returned within 10 calendar days of the purchase date or confirmed delivery date, provided all requirements of our Return and Refund Policy are met. Items clearly marked Final Sale cannot be returned or exchanged.

Sell or Consign Your Jewelry

If you have fine jewelry you no longer wear, Greenleaf’s may be able to purchase it directly or offer it for sale on consignment.

Our team will examine the piece and discuss the option that may be most appropriate based on its condition, materials, gemstones, current market and potential resale demand.

Direct Purchase or Consignment

A direct purchase means Greenleaf’s purchases the jewelry from you outright for an agreed-upon amount.

With consignment, you—the consignor—retain ownership of the jewelry while Greenleaf’s—the consignee—displays, markets and offers it for sale on your behalf. Payment is issued according to the written consignment agreement after the item sells.

Not every item will qualify for direct purchase or consignment. Acceptance is determined after an in-person examination.

What We Consider

Items we may consider include:

• Fine gold and platinum jewelry
• Diamond jewelry
• Colored gemstone jewelry
• Montana sapphire and Yogo sapphire jewelry
• Vintage and estate jewelry
• Signed or designer pieces
• Other distinctive fine-jewelry items

How the Process Works

1. Contact Greenleaf’s

Call us or submit an inquiry to schedule an evaluation.

2. Bring Your Jewelry to the Store

Please bring any available receipts, appraisals, laboratory reports, original boxes or other supporting documentation.

3. We Examine the Piece

Our team will evaluate its condition, materials, gemstones and potential resale demand. This evaluation is not the same as a formal insurance appraisal.

4. We Discuss Your Options

Depending on the piece, Greenleaf’s may offer a direct purchase, consignment or another recommendation.

5. Review the Written Terms

Before Greenleaf’s accepts an item for consignment, the consignor will receive a written agreement explaining the selling price, commission, consignment period, repair costs, insurance responsibilities and payment terms.

General Consignment Terms

• Greenleaf’s Jewelry retains a 40% commission when a consigned item sells.
• The consignor is responsible for required repair costs. These costs are due when the item sells or when the consignor chooses to retrieve the item.
• Consigned pieces may be sold through Greenleaf’s 90-day layaway program. If a layaway is not completed, the item will be returned to the estate showcase unless otherwise agreed.
• With the consignor’s authorization, pieces may be displayed on Greenleaf’s website and social-media platforms.
• The consignor must own the jewelry or have legal authority to consign it. Proof of identification and additional ownership information may be required.
• Photo identification is required when leaving or retrieving consigned jewelry.
• Jewelry and payment for sold items will only be released to the consignor named in the agreement.
• Consigned items may remain in our showcase for up to 18 months.
• Greenleaf’s cannot guarantee that a consigned item will sell or how quickly a buyer will be found.

These are general terms. The signed consignment agreement will contain the complete terms that apply to each item.
